Brian Dunn is the Founder and CEO of Growth Capital Services, a broker dealer firm that provides supervision for independent investment bankers. He has worked on thousands of transactions in capital raises, M&A, and secondaries. Mr. Dunn’s mission is to help good deals happen, large and small, and enable deal-makers to use their time wisely and efficiently towards what they do best.

Growth Capital Services (GCS) has been in the business of supervising private placements since 2009. At its core lies OLIVIA, a proprietary app that organizes the interaction between the banker and the supervisory team. GCS has been the broker dealer of record on over 2,000 transactions worth over $2.5 billion.

Previous to GCS, Mr. Dunn ran a private investment network in the dot-com era of 1998 – 2001. He then began to build a broker-dealer firm from the ground up, obtaining FINRA registration in 2003. By realizing the need for a firm that provides modern compliance services for a clientele that has become accustomed to a lesser standard, he created the infrastructure that enables the company’s current success.

Mr. Dunn earned an MBA from the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, an MA from Johns Hopkins University, and a BA from UC Berkeley. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 27, 39, 63, 65, 79 and 99 registrations. A born adventurer, Mr. Dunn has worked and traveled in all 50 states and over 100 countries. Now settled in San Francisco, he plays saxophone and percussion in a local band. On the weekends, he constructs crossword puzzles and splits firewood at his cabin in the mountains, in the loving company of his wife, daughter, and dog.
